Professor Ljunggren's field of research is Russian literature – mainly 19th and 20th century poetry (Fyodor Tyutchev, Boris Pasternak). Professor Ljunggren is a member of the Tyutchev Commission (Institute of World Literature, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow); she has also led a project on contemporary Russian prose in cooperation with the Faculty of Journalism at Lomonosov Moscow State University, in which the Finland-Swedish cultural journalist Kristina Rotkirch also took part.
